Discs that have gone permanently missing due to ending up in the wrong case after a trip in the car:

Guided by Voices - Bee Thousand (ouch!!!!)
Yoko Ono - Feeling the Space (missing since a trip to Chicago in 1999, so whatever CD case I stuck it in has not been opened in nine years)
My Favorite - The Happiest Days of our Lives
A Red House Painters disc, but I don't recall which one
The second Ed Harcourt album


Disc that returned home, a week after I'd picked up a replacement copy, of course:

The Church - Starfish, which was discovered sharing space with the rightful occupant of 10,000 Maniacs In My Tribe.

I haven't seen my copy of London Calling in months. Before that, I swear, I lost only a single CD in my years of owning CDs - Shawn Colvin's Cover Girl, of which I found a replacement for a buck years later.

my car got broken into in 1985 and they broke my warren zevon live tape.
one of my favorite tapes. was taped off the radio.
do to the magic of downloading 2 weeks ago i reaquaired the exact concert.
at least i think it is from the funny remarks made on a few songs.

That tape of out-of-print Ennio Morricone I checked out of the library that I left in the rental car's tape deck. 'Twas after our trip thru Mojave/Arizona wild west landscapes for which, of course, if provided the perfect soundtrack. Hope whoever got the car after me enjoyed it.

Like rebel, I also found some of it on the intar-webs. (And thanks for reminding me to revive the "add Warren Zevon to TP" campaign.)
