When is the entry on The Queers going to be updated? Joe and co. have continued to release great albums since 96's Don't Back Down despite undergoing numerous line-up changes, label moves, and the untimely death of Hugh O'Neill. Plus, the original Lookout catalog (that Ira has already reviewed here) has been re-released on Asian Man records with remastered sound, liner notes, and some bonus tracks (since Lookout wasn't paying the band their royalties).
I'm surprised that The Queers don't receive more attention since they are arguably the best band to keep The Ramones' sound and spirit alive. (Some might argue that this distinction belongs to Screeching Weasel or The Riverdales or Mr. T Experience or Teen Idols, etc...but for my money, The Queers have always been the best.)
Plus, The Queers boast one of the best discographies in all of punk rock...dare I say even better than The Ramones themselves? While The Ramones are the greatest punk rock band ever, they really stopped putting out great albums after Too Tough To Die, whereas The Queers have released strong albums throughout their entire career. Their styles have ranged from bubblegum pop punk to old school punk to 60s AM Gold pop, making them one of the most prolific bands out there.
