im hanging out with this hot girl sat night and we are really having a cool conversation about relationshits and i figured id quote one of my favorite songs and say another girl another planet. with that she says thats one of my favorite songs. could this be my match . a picture of her and i in my mind are spending the rest of our lives listening to great music and singing it to our children n grandchildren in our car.
with that she says i love blink 182.. should have known it was too good to be true. well at least they have good taste in covers.

The Only Ones are one of my fave bands but I realized early on that I would never find a member of the fairer sex who shared my feelings.

Rather than hold that against them, I did the next best thing and just obsessively played the Only Ones Peel Sessions for any girl dumb enough to spend more than 15 minutes talking to me.

It was a heroic attempt to create a female Frankenstein's monster molded in my exact image, er, except with desireable female body parts I mean.

Ah, good times.

i long ago gave up on females who have the same taste and settled for those that simply respect mine (until somebody stumbles upon this thread - then I'm in trouble)
blink 182 do have a few good tracks

Blink 182 are okay. One of those bands that were all right themselves, but who unfortunately inspired untold legions of dire shit.

If this woman were a Good Charlotte fan, for example, then you should move to a different state just to avoid her.

Other bands whose own general okay-ness was irreparably tarnished by the heinousness unleashed in their wake:

Pearl Jam
Bauhaus
Van Halen

I'd strike Blink 182 off the list and put Green Day on there instead. At least they didn't get involved with clothing lines and reality shows.

Seeing Blink-182 (when I saw them in 2002) was like seeing two bands at once: the one playing the songs, and the one talking to the audience between songs. The first Blink was great, but with the conclusion of each song, I began to cringe, knowing the other Blink would be up next. Even a few seconds of that other Blink was hard to stomach.

"Another Girl, Another Planet" is especially wonderful if you happen to be driving a convertible on a sunny day ... gradually accelerating as the song builds up. (Note to travelers: When you go on vacation, get the best rental car that your budget will allow. We were lucky that year.)
