Hendrix Question

Hendrix Question

I found a Polydor double album of Axis and Are You Eperienced? On the jacket there's no date, but on the vinyl it says 1967 and Made In England
the S/N is 2683 031 Select Double on the jacket, but 2343-073 and 2343-074.
My question is that these songs sound different than the US releases, so is it different takes or different mixing?

partial truths:

the polydor number i know about is 2683-031,

i don't know the stuff but i think that polydor as solos put out the 2 earlier albums in germany, one with simulated stereo (the first) and the second with an "alternate mix," whatever that means; possibly, then, polydor just threw that stuff together on one? Isn't simulated stereo vs stereo or mono eas=y to discern? if so, then this may explain it.
