Question

Hello, Im new here and new to TP. I had a few questions to help with starting my collection.

1. I see on ebay that some early issues have address subscription labels on the cover, but later issues do not. Were the later issues delivered in a wrapper that the label was attached to?

2. When looking through a magazine that had the Flexi-Disc removed, is there evidence of it being removed? Is there plastic left behind?

3. If I were to put a newsstand (no Flexi) copy next to a subscription copy, with Flexi removed, is there a difference?

Thanks for your help, I'm excited to grow my collection!

Awesome thanks! I have two copies at PSA getting graded now and have more to send. I will need to explain the differences between the subscription and newsstand to their team so they can get the labels correct.

1 - Yes, that is correct. When we started putting flexidiscs in subscriber copies, we mailed them in envelopes.
2 - Not likely. The discs were bound in at the perforation, so removing them would only leave a loose rectangle of plastic in the back of the magazine, which would fall out. This is what the back of the disc looks like in the magazine:

3 - No. It was complicated enough getting the discs into subscriber copies; dividing the press run any further would have been too difficult. That's why the page behind the disc was always headlined "Free Disc for Subscribers" so people who bought TP retail would not be baffled by the page.
