Just did a fill-in show on my WFMU channel that is festooned - FESTOONED, I tell ya! - with TP bands: [wfmu.org] The concept was: applying to the "Americana" format what The Cramps did to rockabilly. That is to say, the "psycho-" version of not just rockabilly, but roots music in general. Thing is, I don't know if I've ever actually listened to any Americana shows/stations, so not totally sure what it means. E.g.: I featured a number of Slash Records artists, but not The Blasters. Wasn't sure if they were real "Americana" or "psycho-."
