I was reading this article: [www.juxtapoz.com] and I liked the concept of the musical equivalent of visual artists, but I’m not sure I agree with his examples. Salvador Dali = Zappa? Hmm… I’m sure you all could come up with good examples, but I’m a-feared we would be too literal. Like his example of Futura = Suicide. Of course, I remember Futura’s appearance on The Clash song “Overpowered By Funk” so I have those two yoked together in my mind. (Like the way many of us would lump Warhol in with the VU, even if there isn’t anything really Pop Art about The Velvets.) So maybe Suicide is a better choice..? I once conceived a Powerpoint project showing Pre-Raph paintings with CT's music in the background, but I checked Youtube and someone beat me to the punch. Perhaps I will revisit that project in the future.

It took me many years to appreciate Impressionism, but now I’m really taken with how the artists of that school were able to give you the sense (or impression) of the things they were depicting without clearly-defined lines.
