Can someone identify this 80's punk song?

[youtu.be] The song starts at 1:22:43. The video should start at this song. This is a DJ set put out last weekend by Boards of Canada. It mixes their sounds with some pretty cool old tunes, most of which is extremely obscure. This song sounds like The Damned but I am pretty sure it isn't them. They almost sound American to me. Nobody can figure out the tune where these things are discussed. I have googled lyrics but come up empty.

Ah, of course... Sinking Ships!

Ok, obviously I’ve never them or of them. But thanks for the info, this is exactly the kind of band I was mentioning in my Smash Hits post; the undiscovered surprise. Thanks to YouTube they can be heard instantly now.

Only a couple of 45’s, one on the same label as B-movie (early ‘nowhere girl’ release). They definitely have the right sound for 80-81. If I found these singles for a decent price I’d pick them up.

And this is awkward to admit, but the fact that they’re British is really the icing on the cake for me. If they were from Hoboken or Flagstaff, it would somehow lose cache. Not sure why, it just matters somehow with this type of artist!

The answer finally popped up recently. The band was Sinking Ships and the song is Strangers (1980). The comments have a little more info here. [www.youtube.com]

Yeah man, nobody knows. Most think it was too small or too local or an old band of the bros themselves. There is nothing on the net about it so only someone who had heard it in a real life context might know it. No big deal though. Just sort of a fun little mystery.

The auto-boxes at the top of message box feature are not necessarily easier to use. I would guess most of us just do things manually.
