When Music Publicity Goes Bad I'm sure you-all get your share of music biz spam as I do, but this email headline really stopped me in my tracks: "Balkan-Spiced Triphop Meets Steampunk Psychedelia" I read it. I read it again. And again. What the hell does that mean? Opened it up and read a long list of other descriptions (for only one band, mind you) from "tribal" to "classical." Well! That about covers it, eh? Also: "post-dubstep beats". So we're in the "post-dubstep" era now? Could you tell the difference between dubstep and post-dubstep? Sometimes writers can be so descriptive that they end up being not descriptive at all. (Oh, and the music? I had a listen. "Electro-rock" I'd call it. Or maybe "electro goth rock" since it gets a bit atmospheric. This is only a guess.
