Back In Black

Somebody wanna do me a favor and grab their old copy of Back In Black and answer a question for me? I could swear that when I first bought the album in 1981 or so, the 4th song was listed on the cover as "Given The Dog A Bone." Even in 8th grade, I knew that was grammatically incorrect.

But in flipping thru a friend's CD folder (he's gotten rid of the covers and cases), I see that on the CD version, the song is listed as the grammatically proper "Giving The Dog A Bone" (oddly, when I pop it into my computer, it comes up on iTunes as "Givin' The Dog A Bone").

I no longer have my vinyl version of the record anymore, so can someone tell me if my recollection is correct and that some genius editor at Atlantic has since gone back and corrected the song title? Or am I making this up entirely?

I remember an interview with Brian Johnson, where the interviewer brought up the rude innuendoes in the guy's lyrics. He cited "Given the Dog a Bone" as an example. Johnson got in the dude's face over that, saying (as I recall it), "Listen now, don't you put down that song in your article. My mum says that's her favorite AC/DC song. She thinks it's nice of us lads to give the poor doggie a bone!"

Johnson ended the interview by asking, "Just one more thing: Exactly why am I being interviewed by a magazine called Musician?"

Those lads in AC/DC are usually such devotees of proper English, it's a trifle off-putting to see them make such a howler of a mistake. Not at all like those unlettered ruffians in Slade! Humbug!
The schoolboy's uniform is not a mere affectation, you see? Truly committed to learning they are! Modern day philosophers. The rocking sort, of course.
You know, I think there might still be a snap of our Angus leafing through a copy of Fowler around here somewhere. Where did I leave it?

...
No. My mistake. He'd just placed the book on the table in the foyer when the picture was taken. No such luck. You'll just have to trust me on this one.
