 Gabba? Gabba? Hey!

For weeks, I've been promising myself that that I'd finally take meaningful action to resolve a heinous and embarrassing issue with my automobile: NO RAMONES CD!

I'd procrastinated. I'd hemmed. I'd hawed. Weeks have passed. Nothing. Last weekend passed. A large part of this week passed.

Late last night, I finally sat down and compiled a disc.

(((This was from my own honest-to-goodness, store-bought CDs! Honest, Mr. Lowery!)))

The hard part (of course) is deciding which titles to leave off.

Set the finished item by the front door and hit the hay. This morning, I was all the way out to the car before I remembered the disc. Went back, grabbed it and popped it in the stereo. Finally: Serendipity baby. Serendipity.

I get to work this morning and in one of those rare moments when the planets align and circumstances dovetail perfectly ... the very first client I talked to this morning had an e-mail address that made a glaring, obvious reference to the Ramones.

Some days it's just extra great to be alive.

Some may disagree with me, but I think Ramones Mania is a good comp. It hits most of the high points of their Seventies albums, and cherry-picks most of the best from their Eighties discs. Some different choices could've been made, but they'd have amounted to fine-tuning.
