Has anyone been listening to this song. It sounds like it was a Bomp! single from '82. This is the closest anyone has got to pure jangly power pop in many many years. I am sure the rest of the album will be completely different, but the details here are incredible.

It certainly has the sound and the production qualities of '60s pop without the edgy pop hooks or dynamic vocal energy. It is carefully crafted. It sounds comfortable and sonically pleasant but I find it a bit bland and featureless compared to the music it seems to emulate. It has all the features necessary to guarantee it airplay on "easy listening" and "soft rock" radio stations.
Perhaps it might stand out to a modern listener more familiar with recent popular music owing to its reversion to an older musical style that emphasizes treble over bass, subtle harmonies over staccato hip-hop vocals and restrained rhythm instrumentation over bass and drum-heavy subwoofer stress tests.

So the rest of Mature Themes is out. I am liking this more than Before Today. The greatness to weirdness ratio is more favorable. Only in My Dreams is still the best song but there are alot of good ones here. I would recommend it for some modern psychedelic pop.
