I wasn't the biggest Purple fan but he's certainly a significant link in the rock chain. I even had a friend who had a keyboard with a pre-programmed sound called "Deep Purple". It was a really fat organ sound with a bit of a hard edge that we ended up borrowing for a recording. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18864409
