So. I'm going to see Morrissey with the wife in October. Weird year for concerts.
I've seen Lloyd Cole, Matthew Sweet, will be seeing Wilco. . . and now this.
Is this what constitutes an "oldies" circuit nowadays??
(I once saw--and reviewed--a showcase featuring the Box Tops sandwiched in between Lesley Gore and the Association just so that I could meet Alex Chilton.)

Three of those four put out good albums of new material last year. If an artist still is coming up with good new music, can said artist be considered part of any "oldies" circuit?

Hmmm. Good question. Though I would put out there that only Wilco released an album that I personally would rate well (something I'm surprised to assert--in that I've been highly critical of their new-millennium stuff).

I spoke to a guy named Morrissey on the phone today. As if that weren't enough, I also talked to a Derrick Smalls today. Weird day for rock-n-roll name-a-likes.
If Zoot Horn Rollo calls, I'll let you all know.

Wow, Kay! First Mark E. Smith, and now Morrissey and Derrick Smalls!
Can Udo Dirkschneider be far off?
I can dream.

"Collect call for Mr. Kay, from Udo Dirkschneider ... will you accept the charges?"
