I realize that recorded music is a sinking ship, but if they want to make any money off them while the ship sinks, go back to jewel cases, even if they are environmentally unfriendly. I bought 3 new CDs today that I want to be excited about: El-P, Hallelujah the Hills, and Beach House. All 3 are dismal little black paper envelopes containing a CD inside. The HTH paper envelope is even smaller and less substantial than the traditional CD size. (OK, Ok, it was basically home recorded and self-released) You have to make it feel like I am actually getting something for my $11.99! <end of rant>

Observation partially redacted. This Beach House packaging is pretty lavish on further inspection. It even has a textured cover. Please ignore me.

Pssst! If you punch the textured bits out of that sleeve, the thing doubles as the best little black cardboard cheese grater ever.

How is the Beach House, Nose? I've been tempted to buy it, but haven't been moved to pull the trigger yet.
Any fellow Massholes (nose included) know of any decent independent record or book stores in New Bedford/Fairhaven/Fall River area? Heading there for some more whaling research over the next couple of days.
