Maurice Sendak. I feel OK posting that here. . . Where the Wild Things Are is kinda proto-punk, isn't it?

You're thinking of just plain old "Wild Thing," perhaps?
...
I can remember many a keg party being kicked off with the immortal words:
"LET THE WILD RUMPUS BEGIN!"
...
That book was one of the literary foundations of my childhood. Huge loss. Still, it was bound to happen. I hope wherever Sendak ends up, his supper is still warm when he gets there.

These guys thought it was reasonably punk rock. http://risingabovebedlam.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/celibate-rifles-hard-ons-where-wild.html

Beautifully put. I'm stealing it.
This is a huge loss. Huge. It's like another light, seeming small but actually very bright, has gone out in the world.

"This is a line HollowbodyKay stole from Maurice Sedak!"

"Well ... we're stealin' it back!"
...
Ugh. I haven't gone looking for images of The Dublin Messiah in ages and ages. Time is cruel.
Two thoughts on Mr. Vox:
1. The guy doesn't leave the house without a suitcase full of those reddish sunglasses.
2. Sonny & Cher's weird daughter son as your Google Doppelganger? Blech.
...
Loved the Zappa guitar. BTW.
