. . . Just got her and me tix to see Girlfriend performed in its entirety by Matthew Sweet and co. Is it just me, or are concerts being more and more squarely aimed at me and my ilk? (Granted, at 43, I am in the disposable income age/bracket, not that income is ever disposable.)

I'm looking forward to a Jesus & Mary Chain tour wherein they rehash those legendary 15 minute sets but gouge their audience at outrageously modern concert ticket prices.
Just so I have an excuse to riot.
...
I take a pretty dim view of this whole Artists-Revisit-Specific-Albums-In-Concert trend. I can stay home and listen to the damned album! I expect the live experience to be a departure in some sense. Otherwise, it's like a visit to a God-damned museum. Quite bluntly, I hate it.
If you really wanna see Mr. Sweet (and Co.) do his Girlfriend in person, that's your business.

Hey, Kay's protestations aside. . . we need to find commonality with the spouse. Didn't y'all learn anything from Nick Hornby?
