I dunno.
But you've reminded me of a rather off-color piece by Tesco Vee that I read in an old copy of Forced Exposure. Something about his television viewing habits during his formative years and what he'd have been doing with/to Mrs. Howell if he couldn't get lucky with either Mary Anne or Ginger.
It doesn't bear repeating in polite company, and might even still be illegal in some states of the Union.
...
It was the issue of F.E. with Savage Pencil on the cover ... or Diamanda Galas. I can't recall just now or ever.
Those were the only two copies I ever owned.
...
Just for the record, if I had to choose?
Mary-Anne!
Ginger!
Mary-Anne!
Ginger!
Mary-Anne!
Ginger!
Hell. Who am I kidding? It's Ginger all the way. That's how I know I'm getting old(er). I now prefer the jaded whore to the farm-fresh filly.
Sad.

I got an email once with a lot of "imponderable" questions, including this one: How come the Professor could make a radio out of two coconut shells and some sea water, but couldn't figure out a way to fix a hole in a boat's hull?
Someone on the thread replied, "Dude, Mr. Howell is stuck with his wife on the island, the Skipper is fat, and Gilligan is a dork. That makes the Professor the most eligible bachelor on an island with two gorgeous women ... whereas, back home, he's an academic nerd. Why would he want to fix the boat?"

It bears mentioning that in season one, episode eight ("Good-Bye Island"), they did in fact try to fix the Minnow with a miracle glue that Gilligan discovered, but in the end the glue turned out to be highly unstable and the entire boat ended up flying into pieces at the end of the episode.
So it's not that the Professor couldn't fix a hole in the hull - he would have had to rebuild the entire boat from scratch, which is a considerably bigger task. And the Professor is often criticized for not at least building a raft or smaller boat, but that ignores the fact that in season one, episode one ("Two On a Raft") Gilligan and the Skipper did attempt to reach the shipping lanes on a raft, only to discover that the prevailing currents in the area would return any such small craft directly to the island.
A historical note: the glue that Gilligan discovered in this episode is NOT the same glue which was used to repair the lens on the satellite camera that crashed on the island, setting off a chain of events in which the castaways ended up convincing NASA that Mars was populated by bird-people.

Oui! Oui! How ... fascinating!

Yeah, but my grandfather never got the castaways' hopes up for rescue only to leave them stranded when they got drunk and passed out.

Ha! Yeah, that caused a bit of cognitive dissonance in me as a child. Not being appropriately old enough to see a good portion of his stuff--and being a huge Gilligan's watcher--for a time I thought his entire job was that one appearance as Lord Beasley. I was pretty devastated by the fact that he left them behind (and told him as much; he was a patient man).

Speaking of Bacchus...
A few weeks back I caught a South Park repeat that had what I thought was a stroke of genius. Their cartoon Denny's restaurant had a poster for a 'Baconalia' breakfast.
Turns out it's no joke- that's a real thing.
(I'm east coast Canadian. No Denny's here. But an orgy of bacon sounds pretty good.)

Yeah, I saw that Baconalia menu the last time I visited Denny's, which was a year ago. (I was helping a friend drive a truckload of furniture cross-country, and we stopped there for breakfast.) I don't share MJ's appreciation of bacon; quite the opposite, in fact. Looking at the offerings on the menu made me feel a tad queasy. When I got to the bacon ice cream sundae, I asked the waitress to take the special Baconalia menu off my table.

I've only recently matured out of automatically (and without much thought), asking, "Not even *bacon*?" when someone identifies themselves as a vegetarian.
