One of my favorite records ever. I might listen to this to hear the interviews.

Is Under The Milky Way really the jangle-pop version of Stairway To Heaven at this late date?

Dis you mean "Is Under The Milky Way the jangle-pop version of "S.T.H.?"

Gawd. I hope not.

I heard "Metropolis" on the "muzak" system at an outdoor shopping mall the other day and liked it a lot more than I'd ever liked it previously. The tune that is.

"What's it all coming to?"

Metropolis is one of their greatest songs. Really gorgeous despite the goofy metropolis / top-a-less rhymes. Also, one of the best one note guitar solos ever.

"Metropolis" has long been one of my go-to songs when I want to include The Church in one of my radio shows ... along with "Myrrh," "North, South, East and West," and "Hiroshima Mon Amour."

Why play the Church version of "Hiroshima" when the original is SOOOOO much superior?

Anyway, I usually skip "Metropolis" when listening to Gold Afternoon Fix. If there's an underrated song on that album, its "Fading Away."

I wouldn't agree that the original is that superior, Zoo ... or rather, I'd assert that The Church's version is really good. (I'm definitely an Ultravox fan, though; don't get me wrong.)
