Is "A Clockwork Orange" just too much of a fixture to get any serious consideration here? Or is it just not a very good film? Or is it just a case of too much of the old cultural "in-out, in-out?"

I'll vote for Clockwork Orange, Kay. Especially the fabulous record store scene. Wish I would have a similar experience on Record Store Day.

The only problem with Clockwork is that Kubrick made even better movies! 2001 is his masterpiece and Barry Lyndon and The Shining are my 2 faves after that. Then EWS, Clockwork, FMJ, and Lolita. All great movies really. It's weird though. I can't stand Dr. Strangelove and feel very little for his earlier efforts (Killers, Paths, etc.) This thread makes me want to watch Kubrick!

only for its pure IMPACT
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. a truly satirical expose that only sociopaths find funny.
a clockwork orange might be my favourite though. another KUBRICK tale of revenge told from the victims point of view, but this time, i don't feel sorry for the rich.
