I included a couple blocks of Cuban music, since yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the U.S. embargo. At least one listener thought I was commemorating the embargo, rather than giving tribute to Cuban musicians. (In fairness, perhaps I didn't make my intention very clear on the air.) He called to tell me, "You're a fuckin' loser."
I thanked him for calling to voice his views, and encouraged him to keep listening.

Not regarding the embargo in particular, but in general: I've been known to call the local community-supported radio station to tell the DJs to keep their political commentary (during a music show) to themselves and just play music.
Anyway, Chucho Valdez is one monster of a pianist. Irakere are awesome.
