Batastrophe EP (Sire) 1983

Specimen was a leading exponent of the Batcave glam-punk non-movement; this demi-album (an American compilation of UK singles, all on the London label) blends T. Rex, Adam Ant, Ziggy Bowie, Gary Glitter and Tommy Steele into a reasonably innocuous breed of loud chart-pop played for all the inherent B-movie melodrama possible. "The Beauty of Poisin" and "Returning from a Journey" are both catchy tunes with big beats; the other four are swell but less memorable.
