With Arthur Baker producing, this interracial Detroit trio plays a different combination of rock and funk, avoiding all the contemporary stereotypes to forge a blend of its own. The balance shifts from song to song, electronically syncopated beats sharing the grooves with rock-inflected guitar; overlaid tape effects (edits by the Latin Rascals) color some of the tracks a hip-hop hue. A solidly played, interesting record.
